Although the driver will be installed, the Intel Wireless software utility may not be.
How to enable the Wireless function if only the driver is installed
Go to Device Manager and double-click on the Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 2200BG Network Connection
The wireless device can be turned on or off by ticking or removing the tick from the box as shown below.
